Hello

Welcome Dr. Ken Addams, DC!

About Artes Tenebris:

Not everyone feels at home in the darkness, the unknown mystery. What causes pain, what leaves you feeling achy, stiff, or lost?

We strive to provide care that may feel uncommon - so that we can adequately address these questions. Our appointment times are longer, your visits are in-depth.

Why?  Because your experience matters, and education is always the primary objective.

We take the time to discuss, assess, and then intervene.

Still, the visit is not complete. Let’s put in some work to ensure you maintain the improvements we made during our visit.  Whether it’s with kettlebells or resistance bands, we find the right combination of strength and endurance exercises to grant you control over your path.

Does this uncommon approach seem like what you've been searching for?  Then please, schedule and let's begin your search for a better path forward.

My Story

About Ken:

The human condition is one where our experiences tend to accumulate, both good and bad.

We adapt, we overcome, but we also bring along some of those things.

Sometimes, it’s a lingering injury.  Other times, it’s a worry about “What happens if I get hurt again?”

Or maybe we see something we want to accomplish, but just don’t have the confidence to chase that goal, the support structure, or the steps to take.

This is where having a provider that supports you, your experiences, and your goals can come in.  Our bodies want to move, to learn, to grow, to express what we feel on the inside, and nothing should stop that from being your reality!

I am honored to help you, and to help others, in learning new abilities, healing old injuries, and gaining new confidences as you navigate the world.

It is always my goal to ensure you are heard, you are understood, and you are supported.

Your concerns are valid, and your goals are within reach.

You should never be told to stop doing the things that you enjoy as a trade off to recovery from pain.

My education began with advanced studies in physics, biology, and chemistry.  I first hoped to learn about the mysteries of space, the universe, all of the cosmos…before turning my attention to the mysteries of bodies and the earth, how we interact, adapt, evolve.

I attained my doctoral degree from chiropractic school, with a focus on multiple styles of adjusting/manipulation and soft tissue work, and nutrition. My prior undergraduate degree is with field work in anthropology, archaeology, as well as a master’s program in education and mentoring.  In addition to working as a chiropractor  for nearly 10 years, I have spent much of the decade also being an instructor of anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, and pathology.  Being an educator is just as important as being a physician in my practice.

These experiences have given me the knowledge base to address long term issues, help you recover from injuries quickly, and enable you to enrich your life as you see fit.  Further certifications in manual therapy, movement assessment, and exercise rehabilitation allow me to make sure you have the right tools to gain resilience and confidence.

“Movement is the essence of life.”  -Bernd Heinrich
